01 / WHO WE ARE
The operator
behind the signal.
This Privacy Policy explains how Search for Businesses, LLC (“Search for Businesses,” “S4/B,” “we,” “us” or “our”) handles information through this website. We are an independent media and growth marketing business based in Los Angeles, California.
Questions and privacy requests may be sent to search@for-businesses.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.”
02 / SCOPE
Where this
charter applies.
This Policy applies to information handled through this website, including information you send through its email links and data processed when you visit or interact with the site.
It does not govern campaign, customer, employee, contractor or client data that we process under a separate agreement, statement of work, platform relationship or client instruction. Third-party websites and platforms linked from this site operate under their own privacy terms.
03 / INFORMATION WE HANDLE
What can enter
the system.
This website is not designed to collect sensitive personal information. Please do not email Social Security numbers, account passwords, financial credentials, precise health information or similar sensitive material unless we specifically request it and arrange an appropriate method.
04 / HOW WE USE INFORMATION
Every signal
needs a purpose.
- Operate, deliver, secure and improve the website.
- Respond to inquiries and communicate about potential or existing work.
- Understand website performance and interactions when measurement is permitted.
- Measure or personalize advertising only when advertising permission is granted and applicable law allows it.
- Prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents; enforce our rights; and comply with legal obligations.
- Create aggregated or de-identified insights that are not reasonably linked to an individual.
Where European or similar law applies, our legal bases may include your consent; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the site and responding to business inquiries; steps requested before entering a contract; performance of a contract; and compliance with law. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
We do not use website information to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
05 / COOKIES, LOCAL STORAGE + CONSENT MODE
How the
traffic is routed.
The site uses browser storage to remember day/night mode and your privacy choices. Hosting and security infrastructure may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies to deliver and protect the site.
Google Tag Manager is installed to manage measurement and related tags. Before it initializes, Google Consent Mode v2 defaults analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization to denied. Advertising-data redaction is enabled while advertising storage is denied.
Under advanced consent mode, consent-aware Google tags may send limited, cookieless signals even when optional storage is denied. Loading Tag Manager also necessarily sends standard network request information—such as IP address, browser information and the requested page—to Google. Optional analytics or advertising storage is not granted unless you choose it.
You can select “Continue Quietly,” allow all signals, make granular choices or change them later through the Privacy Signal control. Clearing browser storage may reset the saved choice. Browser or device settings may provide additional controls.
06 / SERVICE PROVIDERS + DISCLOSURES
Who helps run
the infrastructure.
We may disclose information to service providers acting for us, including:
- Hosting, content delivery and security providers, including the infrastructure supporting ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare.
- Google, for Tag Manager and any consent-aware measurement or advertising services enabled through the container, subject to your choices.
- Email and business-service providers when you contact us or begin a business relationship.
- Professional advisers, authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, complete a corporate transaction or act with your direction.
These recipients may process information under their own terms where they act independently. We do not authorize service providers acting solely for us to use personal information for unrelated purposes.
07 / SALE, SHARING + TARGETED ADVERTISING
No hidden
toll roads.
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising signals are off by default. If you affirmatively enable advertising, disclosures to Google or another advertising provider may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising” or a “sale” under some state laws even when no money changes hands.
Use Your Privacy Choices to keep or turn advertising signals off. We also detect and honor a browser-enabled Global Privacy Control signal by keeping advertising storage and related advertising signals denied. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
08 / RETENTION + SECURITY
Keep only what
has a reason to stay.
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including responding to inquiries, maintaining business records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and meeting legal, tax or accounting requirements. Retention varies by the nature of the information and our relationship with you.
Your privacy choice remains in your browser until you change it, clear browser storage or the choice is otherwise removed. Hosting, security, analytics, advertising and email providers retain information according to their configurations and applicable terms. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, aggregate or de-identify it.
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission, email or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use care when deciding what to send.
09 / YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
You can call
your signals back.
Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to request access to or a copy of personal information; know its categories, sources, purposes and recipients; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; obtain portability; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling; limit certain uses of sensitive information; and receive equal service when exercising a right.
California residents may exercise applicable rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended. Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or other jurisdictions may also have a right to lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority.
To submit a request, email search@for-businesses.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line and describe your request and your relationship with us. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted, subject to appropriate proof. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Do Not Track: Because browsers do not use a single, universally accepted Do Not Track standard, the site does not respond separately to legacy DNT headers. It does honor Global Privacy Control as described above, and the Privacy Signal provides direct controls for optional storage.
10 / INTERNATIONAL VISITORS
Built in Los Angeles.
Visible everywhere.
We and the providers supporting this website are based in or operate from the United States. If you visit from another country, information may be processed in the United States or other locations whose privacy laws differ from those where you live. Where required, we rely on legally recognized transfer mechanisms or another permitted basis.
11 / CHILDREN
This route is
for business visitors.
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through it. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
12 / CHANGES + CONTACT
The charter
can evolve.
We may update this Policy as the website, providers, practices or law change. The “Last Updated” date will identify the current version. If a change materially affects how we use previously collected personal information, we will provide additional notice or request consent when required.
